For me this picture reminds me of how fortunate RWA has been to coach some really great kids. This picture was taken in 2016 when our Jersey Shore duals team finished in second place in the A Division.

If you look closely you will see some of the finest young men on the mat and in the classroom that Mercer County has produced in recent years. You have two NJSIAA state place winners, six wrestlers that qualified for the state tournament multiple times and they are all student athletes, leaders and good human beings.

They embody the traits that we hold most sacred; hard work, integrity, perseverance, commitment, leadership, comradery, tenacity, grace and dignity.

I would like to congratulate Sam, Drake, Cavan, and Shailen on completing their high school wrestling careers. As we've always taught them, if you can finish a wrestling season there won't be much in life you can't accomplish. They all did it extremely well and I know bigger things are ahead for all of them.

Reflecting on this has been bittersweet because it’s like turning the page and it reminds me that I'm getting old but looking at the glass half full it also reminds that there are faces in this picture that haven't written their entire stories yet. It also reminds me that there will be new faces as life returns to normal and we regroup as one of the best community wrestling programs in New Jersey.

As one of your coaches I will leave you with this; you will always have RWA in your corner as I've enjoyed watching you chase your dreams and no matter where you are we will always cheer you on.

With much love, admiration, and respect,

Coach O'Grady
